The Mission Plaza will be divided into squares and drawn on with chalk. There is a fee for each sqare but free admission for just veiwing. There will also be sqaures for children to draw on for free with a pruchase of chalk from the Historical Museum.

An Italian tradition of street painting for 400 years, I Madonnari continues to be a San Luis Obispo tradition this September 12 and 13 at the Mission Plaza and side streets. Artists of all ages are invited to join the festival to create in chalk, large, colorful street paintings. For children, free Street Painting Squares are provided with the purchase of a chalk box at the festival.
