The Mid State Cruisers Car Show will be held the day after Hot El Camino Cruise Night on the third Saturday in August at Atascadero Lake Park.

John McEuen, founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, will be playing live music with special guests Nathan McEuen Band and Chelsea Williams. Cost is $30. dinner will be available from Hospitality Catering ($12). A portion of the proceeds go to Escuela del Rio.

Festival Mozaic welcomes an international roster of classical musicians, guest artists ensembles each July. The special Encounter presents music that was written while WR Hearst was in residence at Hearst Castle, a rich and important period in classical music.

Enjoy a relaxed, casual late spring evening to sip fine wines, sample tantalizing tastes of savory and sweet and stroll the Esplanade, magnificent terraces and blooming gardens wrapped in a San Simeon sunset.Proceeds from the sale of the art will fund Hearst Castle visual “artreach” programs for undeserved youth.

The Mission Plaza will be divided into squares and drawn on with chalk. There is a fee for each sqare but free admission for just veiwing. There will also be sqaures for children to draw on for free with a pruchase of chalk from the Historical Museum.

An Italian tradition of street painting for 400 years, I Madonnari continues to be a San Luis Obispo tradition this September 12 and 13 at the Mission Plaza and side streets. Artists of all ages are invited to join the festival to create in chalk, large, colorful street paintings. For children, free Street Painting Squares are provided with the purchase of a chalk box at the festival. The Festival is co-presented by the Children’s Creative Project and the American Institute of Architects Central Coast Chapter and benefits arts education programs in local schools.
