New Life Rises… a Float Above the Rest

New Life Rises… a Float Above the Rest

It does rain in California, which didn’t stop the crowds from waiting for hours to view the floats! People came from all over the world to see the floats being decorated and watch the Pasadena Rose Parade. The Theme of this Years Pasadena Parade is  The Cut Above The Rest, Every Day Heros. Each float was remarkable on it’s own, but a few stood out not for their beauty necessarily but for what they stood for. Donate Life “New Life Rises”, It is honoring the new life that emerges when donors make the gift of life possible. I met incredible people who had received a transplant  or one of their family members donated an organ/tissue. They will be riding the float in tomorrows parade. It was a way uniting and healing. I also met Ms. Wheelchair America who will be riding the Kiwanis float. This was the second year that they had wheelchair riders. The Kiwanis float was dedicated to children being a cut above the rest as they relate to others on a daily basis. As 2009 comes to a close and 2010 quickly approaching, it is a good time to remember the people who make a difference every day. What we can do to make a difference and the abundance of beauty that is available to each and everyone of us. I hope you enjoy the behind the scene stories of a few of the floats.
