I. JAN. 16, 2010 MLK CELEBRATION IN SANTA ROSA
You are invited to Peace of the Pie Pizza Party on Saturday, January 16th, 1-3 pm at the Coddingtown Roundtable Pizza in Santa Rosa! Let us celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday together by rededicating ourselves to waging peace in our hearts, our communities, and our world. II. JAN. 18, 2010 MLK CELEBRATION IN OAKLAND
The Peace Alliance/ Northern California Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace will table at the annual Martin Luther King Day event, Make the Dream Real 2010: Justice as Envisioned by Dr. King. This event is in Oakland on 01/18/10, 10 am to noon, with keynote speaker Anthony Batts, Oakland Police Chief. To volunteer with the tabling, please contact Stephanie Thomas (skthomas@flash.net) and plan to arrive by 8:40 as the church fills up and people are often turned away. This event is at Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 1188-12th Street @ Adeline, Oakland, CA. and is co-sponsored by Attitudinal Healing Connection, Inc. & Taylor Methodist Church.
III. JAN. 18, 2010 MLK DAY IN SAN MATEO
San Mateo Peace Action will screen “Outside the Law: Stories from Guantánamo,” a new documentary film by British filmmakers Polly Nash and Andy Worthington, at 7 pm in Beck Hall at the Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo, 300 E. IV. JAN. 18, 2010 MLK CELEBRATION IN WALNUT CREEK
The annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration in Walnut Creek begins at noon at Civic Park Community Center, 1375 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek 94596. Please join the City of Walnut Creek, the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County, and the Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice Center, and others in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King.
